Unesco Library and Catalogs

UNESCO Digital Library

Provides access to publications, documents and other materials either produced by UNESCO or pertaining to UNESCO’s fields of competence. These collections are accessible online or physically at the library or the archives room. 

Collections include:

  • UNESCO publications
  • UNESCO-sponsored publications
  • Speeches of the Director-General from 1970 to present
  • Documents of UNESCO’s Governing Bodies
  • Publications of interest to UNESCO.

UNESCO Digital Archives

Includes tangible and electronic archives of UNESCO documents, publications, electronic records, and UNESCO websites. Includes archives of predecessor bodies that played a role in the establishment of UNESCO.

 

UNESCO Library

Search the catalog to find bibliographic information of UNESCO documents, UNESCO publications, UNESCO supported publications, books, articles, periodicals and online resources. The catalog also includes many UNESCO documents, full-text freely accessible.

The Library's collection includes practically all publications issued by UNESCO. The Library also provides bibliographies, and a link to UNESCO and United Nations databases. 

 

Unesco Cataloging Standards

Unesco Thesaurus

A controlled and structured list of terms used in subject analysis and retrieval of documents and publications in the fields of education, culture, natural sciences, social and human sciences, communication and information. Supports keyword searching, browsing in an A-Z index. Users can view hierarchy and groups for terminology. Available in English, French, Russian, and Spanish.
