Advocating for any cause or issue, including access to voting and elections information and other government information, includes a variety of informal and formal ways that each of us can influence perceptions and knowledge about an issue. This can impact voters, policy makers, elected officials, administrators, and others who have the power to effect change on behalf of our priorities.
Building relationships within our communities, helping to educate policymakers and elected officials, and engaging with the policy making process itself, through voting or running for office, are all ways that we can advocate for ideals at the heart of democracy, including access to government information and participation in our government by an informed public.
