COVID-19 has affected communities in uneven ways.  Join the Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) for a panel discussion that examines the impact COVID is having on diverse communities. The Census Bureau will offer information about documenting experiences with the COVID Pandemic through the Household Pulse Survey. We will also hear from tribal and local governments about the impact on their residents and communities.

Information on our Panelists

 

                                  Cassandra Logan, Ph.D. began her career at the U.S. Census Bureau in 2007 as a Demographic Survey Statistician with the Immigration Statistics Staff in the Population Division. She soon thereafter transitioned into Project and Program Management and currently serves as the Survey Director for the Post-Enumeration Survey, the Household Pulse Survey, and the School Pulse Panel. Cass is a certified Project Management Professional and holds a B.S. in Agricultural Science from Penn State, M.S. in Agricultural Economics from Rutgers University, Ph.D. in Rural Sociology and Demography from Penn State.
Dr. John Krueger serves as the Undersecretary of Medical Staff and Quality for the Chickasaw Nation Department of Health (CNDH). Prior to joining CNDH, Dr. Krueger served as the Division Vice President of Quality for CHI Franciscan and the Pacific Northwest Division for Common Spirit Health (Oregon and Washington). Dr. Krueger is a 2010-2011 George W. Merck Fellow at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) in Cambridge, MA and an IHI Faculty member. He holds IHI Certificates as an Improvement Advisor (IA) and a Patient Safety Officer (PSO) and has worked around the world in healthcare QI-oriented consulting and quality collaborative programs. Dr. Krueger’s professional interests include quality leadership and professionalism, healthcare quality and safety, wellness, opioid and medication safety, diagnostic accuracy, high reliability, statistical process control, health innovation, patient centered design, and most of all improving the lives of patients, families, communities and workers in healthcare delivery in meaningful ways.

Preetha Iyengar, MD is the Medical Officer of the Division of Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance at the District of Columbia (DC) Department of Health.  Dr. Iyengar graduated from University of Michigan medical school, and completed her pediatrics residency and chief year at the Social Pediatrics Program at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx.  She then served as an Epidemic Intelligence Office at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the Global Disease Detection Branch.

At the District of Columbia Department of Health, she is responsible for overseeing infectious disease surveillance and outbreak response activities. She  also served as the Chief of the Outbreak Response Division of the DC Health COVID-19 response, supervising outbreak reporting and response activities in community and healthcare facility settings. She also served as a policy advisory for the director and oversaw development of public health guidance during the response.
