Alaska

Alaska Volcano Observatory Image Search
Database of volcano related photos. Database may be searched by name of volcano, year, image type (may refer to purpose or format), words in caption, author, recent images and "keywords." Keywords are in quotes because you are asked to choose form a list. Search can be limited to public domain images only. Credit for photographers and AVO/USGS is requested for use of these images.

Conservation

Alaska Pesticide Registration Database
All pesticides must be registered with Alaska's Dept of Environmental Conservation before being sold in the state. This database can be searched by brand, ingredient, company,type of pest and more. As of 2008, DEC is working with Kelly Registration Systems for this registry. From the website, "This website (http://www.kellysolutions.com) is owned, maintained, and provided by Kelly Registration Systems, Inc. (KRS), Covington, GA, as a free service to the public through the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (Division of Environmental Health). Contaminated Sites Program Database Search
Database of Contaminated Sites and Leaking Underground Storage Tanks (UST). Searchable by facility name, address, borough, city, zip code and status. Database entries include extensive site reports and contact information for responsible personnel.

Online Permit Search (For wastewater)
Search by keyword or point and click with map. Click on "hamburger menu" in upper right corner to access advanced search options. Records include link to PDFs of issued permits which explains how much can be dumped and how.
Operator Training and Certification Section Library Catalog
From the website, "The Operator Training and Certification Section of the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation maintains an operator lending library. Materials from the lending library are available for checkout. Materials may be checked out for a maximum of 45 days. Return postage is the responsibility of the requestor. Requestors who fail to return materials by the deadline will not be allowed to check out resources from the lending library and may be invoiced for the resources." Searchable by title or subject.
Wastewater Operator Certification Search
Searchable listing of all certified wastewater system operators. Search by name or city. Records list current certifications and expiration date along with current employer.
Wastewater System Classification Search -

Alaska Oil and Gas Commission Public Data and databases-
Listing of publicly available databases and data sets available from the Commission.
Division of Geophysical and Geological Surveys (DGGS) Publications Search
DGGS has been very active in scanning older publications into this database. Find digitized copies of DGGS and Alaska-related USGS reports going back to 1900 using author, title, subject, publication year and/or Quadrangle of interest.
Water Quality Reports
Database uses drop down menus to search by waterbody name, town, area name, hydrologic unit name or hydrologic code. From the website, "Water quality data has been collected from a variety of both surface water and ground water sources by the Alaska Hydrologic Survey. This site is an index to the data that has been compiled in reports or manually collected by the Alaska Hydrologic Survey."
Web Geochem
From the website, "WebGeochem is a simplified search engine that uses predefined queries to select and display geochemical data from multiple published DGGS sources. (As of 6/15/2019, database not working. Still appears in search results so will check again.)

The Web Geochem search engine has three main components:

A search component allowing you to select specific sample types and analysis types of geochemical analyses.
A secondary search component based on either geographic parameters or on preexisting compiled datasets.
A resulting table of sample analyses."

Contains digitized versions of Alaska Department of Fish and Game Publications from 1956 forward. Front page has canned searches which can be selected. "All Fields" goes to an advanced search screen where users can search by title, author, topic, year, species, project number and more.

Arizona

American Mineralogist Crystal Structure Database
From the web page, "This site is an interface to a crystal structure database that includes every structure published in the American Mineralogist, The Canadian Mineralogist, European Journal of Mineralogy and Physics and Chemistry of Minerals, as well as selected datasets from other journals." Database may be searched by mineral, author, chemistry search, cell parameters and symmetry, diffraction search and general keywords. A listing of search tips is provided.
Arizona Emissions Bank Credit Database

This database is the digital version of a hard-copy collection that includes data sheets, maps, photographs and other documentation of lava tube caves throughout the world. The database continues to expand and currently contains entries for lava tube caves from 34 countries on 6 continents. Data such as tube length, floor slope, volcanic complex and other parameters are available and may be searched, sorted, and used to derive data for lava tubes in general.
License Application Query Utility
From the website, "This utility will allow you to query the AZURITE database for pending license applications and itemized billing reports. The utility will provide you with basic information about each pending application, including current status and brief history of the application processing milestones."
NOI Construction Stormwater General Permit Database Search
Database is searchable by Application Type, AZPDES Number, Business Name, Project/Site Name, Project/Site City, Project/Site Zip Code, County, Start Date, and End Date. Records provide operator contact information including phone numbers. Entire database is available as a text download by contacting the agency.
Remediation and Declaration of Environmental Use Restriction (DEUR) Search
From the website, "This utility will allow you to query the AZURITE databases for information relating to DEURs, VEMURs or other remediation. The utility will provide you with: remediation ID, program, place address, remediation start date, remediation end date, remediation level achieved, WPD director's approval date for DEUR, DEUR or VEMUR record date, program file number, contaminants, concentrations, and depth, if available."
Underground Storage Tank Database Search
Searchable by Facility ID, Facility Name, Facility Address, Facility City, Facility Zip Code, Facility County, and Owner Name. Records indicated whether the tank is in use and date of removal, if applicable.
Water and Wastewater Certified Operators Database Search
From the website, "This database allows active [wastewater] operators to research the status of their certificates, including expiration dates. You may also use it to run queries on groups of operators, sorting them by type, grade and county. For example, you could use the database to find all Grade 2 Wastewater Treatment Operators located in Mohave County." Entire database is available as a text download by contacting the agency.

California

Proposition 65 60-Day Notice Search
Proposition 65, more formally known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a California law passed by citizen initiative. Enforcement is carried out through civil lawsuits brought by the California Attorney General, by a district attorney or city attorney of a city with a population exceeding 750,000. However, private parties acting in the public interest can also bring Proposition 65 lawsuits, but only if they have provided at least 60 days notice of the alleged violation to the business, as well as to the Attorney General and the appropriate district attorney and city attorney, and the Attorney General, district attorney or city attorney has not taken action. If a business is found to be in violation of Proposition 65, a court may order the business to stop committing the violation or post warning signs. This database enables you to search for these notices, by year or date range, AG number, the names of plaintiff or defendant, and the product or chemical involved.

The statute reads: "No person in the course of doing business shall knowingly discharge or release a chemical known to the state to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity into water or onto or into land where such chemical passes or probably will pass into any source of drinking water..." (CA Health and Safety Code, Section 25249.5) and "No person in the course of doing business shall knowingly and intentionally expose any individual to a chemical known to the state to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity without first giving a clear and reasonable warning..." CEQAnet
CEQAnet contains key information from all California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) documents submitted to the State Clearinghouse for review since 1990. Some Federal National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents are submitted to the Clearinghouse for state review and these are also included in this database. Provided are summaries of Environmental Impact Reports (EIRs), Negative Declarations, Environmental Impact Statements, and other types of CEQA and NEPA documents. The summaries include the project title, project location, lead agency name, contact information, and project description. The full text of these documents is not provided; also, because not all environmental documents are submitted to the State Clearinghouse, CEQAnet is not a comprehensive database of all CEQA and NEPA documents in California. Searchable by date, type of document, producing or reviewing agency, location and keyword.

Part of the California Planners' Information Network (CPIN), in the State Clearinghouse and Planning Unit. This directory includes contact information and a hotlist for federal, state, regional, county, city and other local planning agencies, along with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) judges for the Superior Courts.

A searchable list of executive orders by the ARB, regarding approval of aftermarket or modified parts for vehicles that affect emissions.
Aftermarket Catalytic Converter Database (Air Resources Board)
The ARB, with assistance from aftermarket catalytic converter manufacturers, has developed a database to store and retrieve information on aftermarket catalytic converters that have been approved for use in California. These catalytic converters comply with the new regulations that became effective 1 January 2009. The database contains converters approved for OBD II vehicles. Once finalized, it will also include catalytic converters for non-OBD II vehicles.
The database is searchable by vehicle information or ARB Executive Order number.

To access Executive Orders that are not shown in the database, please view the complete list of approved catalytic converters under the new regulations. Also, to access Executive Orders for only pre-OBD II vehicles under the new regulations please view the Pre-OBD II EO Listing. For information on Executive Orders issued under the old regulations, view the summary list. All Executive Orders on this summary list are void and no longer in force and effect. The catalytic converters they cover cannot be sold in California effective 31 December 2008. Likewise, the used catalytic converters they covered cannot be sold in California effective 10 July 2008. Air Quality and Meteorological Information System (AQMIS)
Information on maximum ozone concentrations, ozone exceedances, preliminary and official air quality data by time frame, an area of the state, and the type of report, real-time or historical meteorological data, and visual display of air quality or meteorological parameters using color-coded dots at site locations.
Air Quality Data Statistics
This database, formerly called iADAM, allows you to create tables and charts of air quality based on various parameters, such as time and duration.
Expedited BARCT
The table summarizes the expedited BARCT schedules adopted by required air districts.
California Air Toxics Emission Factor Database (CATEF)
This database contains approximately 2000 air toxics emission factors calculated from source test data collected for the Air Toxics Hot Spots Program; most of the source test data is based on emission measurements from the early 1990s. The emission factor data has not been updated since 1996. The CATEF database may be used to estimate air toxics emissions, including individuals and facility operators required to report air toxics emissions for the Air Toxics "Hot Spots" Program. Users should be aware that the sampling method puts the acrolein emission factors in doubt and until they resolve this issue, the ARB does not recommend using these emission factors.
California Emissions Projection Analysis Model (CEPAM)
An emissions projection database, with actual data and compared projections from 1975 to 2020. This database includes a simple [http://www.arb.ca.gov/app/emsinv/emssumcat.php Almanac Emission Projection Data] generator.
Central California Air Quality Studies (CCAQS)
The CCAQS comprise two studies, the California Regional Particulate Air Quality Study (CRPAQS) and the Central California Ozone Study (CCOS), both multi-year efforts of meteorological and air quality monitoring, emission inventory development, data analysis, and air quality simulation modeling. CRPAQS monitoring occurred during a 14-month study period, between December 1999 and February 2001; CCOS monitoring took place during the summer of 2000.
Community Health Air Pollution Information System (CHAPIS)
This mapping tool allows you to look at a map to view sources of air pollution. Currently, most of the data are from 2001, although some of the data about toxic emissions can be from various years from 1990 to 2001. You can use these maps to answer questions like: "What are the major sources of air pollution within several miles of my home?" "What are the relative contributions of mobile sources and stationary sources?" "What sources are near my son or daughter's school?" "Which chemicals are emitted by a particular facility or mobile sources in this area?" To answer these questions you must provide CHAPIS with a location of interest (e.g., county or zip code) and choose which types and sources of pollution you would like to explore. From the CHAPIS map there are also links to other data sources, such as tools to query the statewide emission inventory database and the network of air monitoring stations.
Consumer Products Solvents Database
The ARB has made available this small database identifying the more significant solvent compounds used in consumer products available in California. You may select a solvent by name, chemical class, or by Chemical Abstract Service (CAS) number.
Air District Look Up
Find which of California's 35 air districts you are in by zip code, city or county. This database is also available in comma-delimited zip files for download.
District Rules Database
California's local Air Pollution Control Districts (APCDs) and Air Quality Management Districts (AQMDs) provide the Air Resources Board with electronic versions of their district rules which regulate stationary sources in California. You may access a list of districts for viewing and downloading district rules and regulations.
Facility Search Tool
Finds criteria and toxics pollutant emissions data for facilities in California. Choose a year from 1987 to 2008; then limit your search results by the name of the facility or the air district and the name of the pollutant.
Library Collection Database
The California ARB library collection consists of some 10,000 books and reports, and over 200 journals, covering all aspects of air pollution and related fields. The collection is part of the Cal/EPA Library, 1001 I Street, Sacramento, CA 95814; open 8:00 to 4:00, Monday – Friday. The catalogue can be searched by keywords and limited by date and broad subject categories.
Off-Road Certification Database
Provides a database of emissions certification information for off-road engines, such as construction equipment or boat engines; searchable by engine type, year and manufacturer.
Quality Assurance Air Monitoring Site Information
Using a combination of inputs, such as agency, county, basin and specific pollutants, this database compiles lists the actual monitoring sites, with links to their specifications, location and photographs.
Retrofit Device Verification Database
This interface was designed to assist the user in finding a retrofit device that is verified for their on-road or off-road engine. You can browse by Diesel Emission Control System (DECS), engine family name, engine year, manufacturer, or displacement.
Rules Log Database (RLDB)
The RLDB chronicles the history of rules controlling sources of air pollution, as developed and adopted by California's 35 air pollution control and air quality management districts, the dates the district board first adopted and subsequently amended or rescinded a rule, and the date the California Air Resources Board received the rule. The RLDB also lists the date the rule was submitted, on request of the district, to the United States Environmental Protection Agency for inclusion to the State Implementation Plan (SIP). Finally, the database gives the dates and types of U.S. EPA rulemaking actions on the rule. Currently, the RLDB contains records for rules that are intended by the districts to be revisions to the SIP and which were adopted or amended during the period 1 January 1981 to the present.
Cal/Ecotox Database
The California Wildlife Biology, Exposure Factor, and Toxicity Database (Cal/Ecotox) is a compilation of ecological, physiological, and toxicity data for a number of California mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles and fish. The database is searchable by species or chemical; complete species reports are available for downloading.

As of August 2016, the CalEcotox database is being rebuilt and updated. While it is under construction, the database output is available to users in the form of pdf reports. Users can access the exposure factor reports (which contains all the CalEcotox exposure factor data for selected wildlife species) as well as the toxicity reports (which contains all the CalEcotox toxicity data for selected wildlife species).
CalEnviroScreen
CalEnviroScreen is a mapping tool identifying California communities that are most affected by many sources of pollution, and where people are often especially vulnerable to pollution’s effects. This interactive map uses environmental, health, and socioeconomic information to produce scores for every census tract in the state. The scores are mapped so that different communities can be compared. An area with a high score is one that experiences a much higher pollution burden than areas with low scores, based on data that are available from state and federal government sources. The interactive maps compile many types of pollution and many types of vulnerabilities, such as average age, poverty, and asthma rates.

A database of toxic chemicals as defined by the OEHHA, browsable by chemical name and searchable by common name, CAS number, use or synonym.

An overall index of databases produced by this department.
California Pesticide Illness Query (CalPIQ)
CalPIQ retrieves the most frequently requested information from the Pesticide Illness Surveillance Program (PISP) database. In the PISP program, all reported pesticide illnesses are investigated by the county agricultural commissioners. DPR evaluates the reports and compiles them into a database, which is used to improve the state's program to protect workers and others from the adverse effects of pesticide exposure. Searchable from 1992 through the most recent year summarized in a PISP annual report.

Search for a pesticide or chemical ingredient or registrants by name, CAS number, or DPR chemical code.
Pestcide Company Search
This database yields a list of companies registered to handle pesticides in California, by name, DPS number or address. Detailed reports include company name and address, DPR's registration specialist, and product information available from the Product/Label Database. A [http://www.cdpr.ca.gov/docs/label/chemcomp.htm separate interface] locates registrants by the DPS chemical codes or the Chemical Abstract Service (CAS) number. There is also an [http://www.cdpr.ca.gov/docs/license/currlic.htm alphabetic searchable list] of DPR licensees.
Endangered Species Project
A collection of databases that includes the PRESCRIBE search engine, providing location-specific measures to protect endangered species from pesticides; searchable land use data; Federal Register Notices searchable by species; and United States EPA Interim Measures Bulletins, searchable by county.
Pesticide Data Index
A major library of pesticide data, including more than 81,900 volumes of data containing more than 222,000 studies. The index is updated each Sunday.
Pesticide Residue Monitoring Program
An annual database, going back to 1994, of domestic and imported produce analyzed for pesticide residues.
Pesticide Use Reporting (PUR)
An entry page for the California Pesticide Information Portal (CalPIP), which generates customized information from DPR’s Pesticide Use Report Database; and access to Pesticide Use Annual Summaries, indexed by chemical or by commodity. The summaries include analyses of pesticide use trends and are available from 1989 to present. (Note: In 1989, full use reporting requirements were not in effect.)
Product/Label Database
Look up pesticide products registered in California by product name, registration number, single chemical code, single site code or multiple variables. This database includes additional entries for [http://apps.cdpr.ca.gov/label/restricted.cfm pesticides registered as restricted materials] at the state and Federal levels. An alternate database at the [http://npirspublic.ceris.purdue.edu/state/state_menu.aspx?state=CA California page of the National Pesticide Information Retrieval System] is hosted by Purdue University for the Department of Pesticide Regulation and the United States EPA.
Special Local Need (SLN) Registration Search
The DPR, under the authority of Section 24(c) of FIFRA (Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act), may register an additional use of a federally registered pesticide product or a new end-use product to meet a special local need (SLN) if certain conditions exist. This application is designed to allow users to search for active and inactive SLN registrations issued by DPR. Users can enter search criteria (for example, crop/site, U.S. EPA registration number, chemical) to generate a list of matching special local need registrations with their associated labels.
Surface Water Protection Program Database
This database contains data from a wide variety of environmental monitoring studies designed to test for the presence or absence of pesticides in California surface waters. The monitoring data available through this web site was updated as of June 2011.
CalRecycle Database Listing
A listing of the many CalRecycle databases.
CalRecycle Data Central
A portal to the data and maps of the California Department of Resources, Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) and the related databases of other agencies.

Meetings of the California Integrated Waste Management Board, searchable by keyword, from 1994 to 2009.
eRecycle - Where Do I Recycle E-Waste?
Unwanted electronic devices should be reused or recycled. Disposing of computers, monitors, televisions and other electronic equipment with regular garbage is illegal in California. Functioning electronics can be sold or donated thereby prolonging their useful life. Nonfunctioning electronics that cannot be repaired should be recycled by an organization qualified to do so, as listed here by county. This database includes links to hazardous waste programs sponsored by local governments, and information on battery and fluorescent bulb disposal.
Approved Collectors and Recyclers of Covered Electronic Waste
This search is intended for use by organizations seeking to conduct business with each other within the context of the Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003 system; it is NOT intended as a general locator of reuse and recycling opportunities.
Facility Information Toolbox (FacIT)
The Facility Information Toolbox (FacIT) is an inventory of California's solid waste handling, recycling, and market infrastructure, and a capacity projection model. The facility inventory includes primary processors (transfer stations, materials recovery facilities, compost facilities, etc.) and secondary processors (recycled feedstock producers, recycled product manufacturers, etc.), emerging technology facilities, disposal facilities, and some primary collection facilities. Solid Waste Characterization Database
This database provides estimates of the types and amounts of materials in the waste streams of individual California jurisdictions, for 1999 only, searchable by jurisdiction; multiple jurisdictions can be compared. The data for 1995 is also available.

The State Agency Annual Report tracks the information in the integrated waste management plans and annual reports submitted by state agencies and large state facilities. California Environmental Data Exchange Network (CEDEN)
CEDEN is an extensive database to find and share information about California's water bodies, including streams, lakes, rivers, and the coastal ocean. Many groups in California monitor water quality, aquatic habitat, and wildlife health to ensure good stewardship of our ecological resources; CEDEN aggregates this data and makes it accessible to environmental managers and the public. Besides the Water Resources Control Board and the Regional Water Quality Control Boards, collaborators include the Surface Water Ambient Monitoring Program, US Environmental Protection Agency, Central Valley Regional Data Center, Moss Landing Marine Laboratories, San Francisco Estuary Institute, and the Southern California Coastal Water Research Project. Searchable by many parameters including location, the names of reporting stations, the programs or projects maintaining the stations, the names and types of chemicals or other pollutants, and many others; the database can produce data in text or map form.
Geotracker
GeoTracker is a data management system for managing sites that impact groundwater, especially those that require groundwater cleanup (Underground Storage Tanks, Department of Defense, Site Cleanup Program) as well as permitted facilities and land disposal sites. Searching by address, case ID or the facility name, GeoTracker provides the public records for a site from over 350,000 documents, including regulatory communications, regulatory actions such as records of decision documents, and all data and documents submitted by the responsible parties using the Business to Government Reporting Module for Electronic Submission of Information (ESI).
California Environmental Resources Evaluation System (CERES)
The California Environmental Resources Evaluation System (CERES) is a program of the Natural Resources Agency established to facilitate access to the variety of data describing California’s rich and diverse environment. CERES is made possible by a close working relationship between the CNRA and the Department of Land, Air and Water Resources (LAWR) at UC Davis. LAWR provides experts in remote sensing, programming using open source technologies, network operations and design, and informatics. CERES also replaced the California Environmental Information Clearinghouse (CEIC), an online directory for environmental information resources, including cities, counties, utilities, state and federal agencies, private businesses and academic institutions that have spatial and other types of data resources. The current catalogue is a collaborative effort with the California Geographic Information Association, California Environmental Resources Evaluation System, and the Federal Geographic Data Center, and may be viewed as a "Yellow Pages" of environmental information by indexing and organizing metadata that facilitates identification and access to the data. Environmental resource data itself is not stored, only data resource descriptions, including information on how to find out more about the data or obtain it. Historical Earthquake Online Database
This website displays the felt effects for selected historical California earthquakes. By selecting an earthquake from a clickable map, you can see a map of the area and intensity of shaking from that earthquake, then by clicking on a city on the intensity map (or list beneath the map) you can see what that location reported after the earthquake. These "felt reports" are usually from newspapers during the 1850 to 1930 time period. The felt reports were compiled and published in 1981 and 1982 with updates added through the years. Not all earthquakes have intensity maps and felt reports online.

CalFish
CalFish provides direct access to nearly 150 different types of databases relating to fish and aquatic habitat data. These data include categories such as population monitoring, distribution, migration barrier, hatcheries, species recovery, habitat monitoring and restoration, and genetics. You can view these data by querying the database tables directly or by querying the data geographically with an interactive online mapping system. The mapping system provides access to a broad array of framework data (political boundaries, hydrography, quad maps, and many more), and users can move easily between the tabular and geographic systems. CalFish is a cooperative project with the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission, the NOAA, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, and the US Forest Service.
Department of Fish and Wildlife Database Index
Besides CalFish, the Department of Fish and Wildlife maintains many databases in-house, which can be accessed through an index page. These numerous databases include searchable listings and mapping tools, with many specific subsets.
Species Explorer
This database is a synthesized all-inclusive California species list, connecting related data that refer to the same species even if there are issues with outdated alternate scientific names or common names. It provides a common mapping to species codes across many systems for enhanced cross reference and creates a standard for referencing species in new data collection applications. The intention is to create the most complete list of animal and plant species found in California from any source. We include names for species with or without legal status for the purpose of data collection applications. Species status information (such as endangered or protected status) comes live from the [http://www.dfg.ca.gov/biogeodata/cnddb/ California Natural Diversity Database (CNDDB)] and is available in the Species Explorer on the Species Details page for only those species found in that system.
Searchable Grants Map
This interactive grants database will allow you to search for active projects funded under Proposition 84. To use the search tool for general results simply enter a keyword; results can be narrowed by status, county, fiscal year, grantee, deliverables, grant type and category. Results will be presented in table format.
California Dams Database Search
Search for information on dams within the jurisdiction of the State of California. Search may be conducted by dam name or station id number, owner, stream or county. Each record includes general information about the dam (name, owner, year completed, etc.); location information (county, latitude, longitude, crest elevation, baseline meridian, etc., dam characteristics (type, crest length, heigh, material volume, etc.); and reservoir characteristics (storage capacity, drainage area, reservoir area, and usage).
CDEC Real Time Data
This interface gives access to the current (last 12 hours) sensor data for all of California's river basins. The database is searchable by the name of the river basin and the type of sensor. There are over 200 kinds of sensors, including flow speed, snow depth, evaporation rate, rainfall, water temperature, etc., which can also be searched across the entire state.
CDEC Station Search
This essential database allows you to search for any CDEC station in the state, by name, station ID, the sensor type, location, elevation, river basin, hydrological area, county or operating agency. For example, you could locate all sensors of a certain type or in a certain place, and then access current and historical data for a specific station, which can be downloaded or plotted.
IEP Data and Metadata Access
This page provides links to dozens of databases and spreadsheets maintained by the various agencies of the IEP, some listed elsewhere in this wiki, including fish data, water quality, algae, water flow and water rights. This page also offers access to the defunct Bay Delta and Tributaries (BDAT) Project concerning the San Francisco Bay-Delta estuary, with data contributed by over 50 organizations. The database included biological, water quality, and meteorological data. Coverage varied but dated for the various categories from about 1975 (water quality data back to 1961); the project was suspended in 2008.

Watershed Groups in California
This searchable database covers over 660 groups dedicated to particular California watersheds, such as lagoons, rivers, creeks, etc. Keyword searches can be performed for group names, location or mission (e.g., "to protect and restore wild trout and steelhead"). Entries may include details such as membership information, data collection (and availability of data) by the group, contact information, and projects in which the group is involved.

Wellogic is the Internet-based data entry program developed by the state of Michigan in 2000 to provide an easy method for water well drilling and pump installation contractors to submit water well records. earlier records do exist in the database. The database of records is searchable.
MiTracking - Michigan Environmental Public Health Tracking
The MiTracking Program gathers existing Michigan-specific environmental and health data and provides them in one online location. The user chooses from a number of drop-downs to create a custom report.

Today's Air
The Today’s Air website provides near-real time fine particulate related air quality information to the public on an hourly basis. The website, first launched in 2006, has evolved over time to continually
provide more up-to-date information in more user-friendly formats. Currently, the Today’s Air website updates at 15 minutes past the hour and provides fine particulate, or particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter less than 2.5 microns (PM2.5), concentrations from permanent and temporary monitoring stations running 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.
Underground Storage Tanks
The objective of the Montana Underground Storage Tank (UST) Leak Prevention Program is to protect human health and the environment by preventing releases of petroleum and hazardous substances from UST systems. The release of these regulated products into the environment threatens groundwater resources and can cause explosive vapors to seep into confined spaces and occupied dwellings.
Unpermitted Hazardous Substance Releases
This report provides information on unpermitted releases of hazardous materials. Data for each report is maintained by the State Superfund Unit in the Hazardous Waste Site Cleanup Bureau of DEQ's Remediation Division. More detailed, hardcopy information and reports are available from the DEQ libraries and may be viewed or obtained during regular business hours.

Finds permit information for a specific onsite wastewater treatment system (e.g. septic tank). Data for Bernalillo County, which is outside of the jurisdiction of the New Mexico Environment Department, is incomplete.

Commercial applicator certification is valid for two years. Applicators must take a test to become initially certified, but can recertify by attending a class.

Pesticide Product Company Search

Texas

Aquatic Species
Database includes information about species found in freshwater and marine environments in Texas. Sections that detail information for endangered, threatened, and prohibited species are provided. The database features photographs, other names, descriptions, life cycles, and distribution.
Dry Cleaners Registration Records and Data
From the website, "Find out whether a dry-cleaning facility or drop station is registered with the TCEQ. And, if they are registered, whether they have opted out of the Dry Cleaning Environmental Remediation Fund. Distributors can find out the solvent fees to collect from each registered facility."
Occupational Licensing Search
Search for individual and group occupational licensing information. This query site also provides landscape irrigator and landscape irrigation license search.
Petroleum Storage Tank (PST) Records and Datasets
From the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) website, one can search this registry for current and historic information and datasets about Petroleum Storage Tank (PST) Records, and known Leaking Petroleum Storage Tanks (LPSTs) data in Texas. “[This registry] will allow you to search for basic information on many of the facilities, organizations and people that the TCEQ regulates.”

Water District Database
From the website, "The Water District Database (WDD) is a collection of data from water districts and public drinking water systems that submit information to the TCEQ. Use the WDD to search for the names of districts, their addresses, the counties in which they are located, status of their applications, or maps of their service areas. The WDD also provides a report showing the status of TCEQ reviews of engineering plans and exceptions for public water systems."

Utah

Aerial Imagery Collection
The Utah Geological Survey Aerial Imagery Collection contains 96,510 individual aerial photographs and images of Utah. Search by latitude, longitude, address, and using the Draw Box.
Groundwater Monitoring Data Portal
The Utah Geological Survey's Groundwater Monitoring Data Portal allows users to view, search, and download groundwater monitoring data from a dataset containing over 7.05 million records.
Utah Geochronology Database
The Utah Geological Survey Geochronology Database contains ages and dating information of sampled soils and rocks.
Utah Geological Survey Geologic Map Portal
View detailed geologic maps and information about geological formations.
Utah Mineral Resources: Metals and Industrial Minerals
Utah Mineral Resources: Metals and Industrial Minerals web map application was created by the Utah Geological Survey (UGS) in cooperation with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to show mineral resource information in Utah. Search by location using an interactive map or download an Excel spreadsheet.
Utah Mining Districts Database
The Utah Mining Districts database contains major metal production data for over 180 mining districts and has been updated through 2012. The data also includes estimates for the age of mineralization in millions of years, most important commodities produced, total value of mineral production, year the district was organized, and years in which metals were produced. Search by district name or commodity using an interactive map or download the GIS data and the mining district production spreadsheet.
Utah Quaternary Fault and Fold Database
This map from the Utah Geological Survey allows users to view and search for faults and fault-related folds. These geologic structures have been sources of earthquakes in the past and are likely sources for future earthquakes.
Utah Wetlands
Search and view wetland areas using this Utah Geological Survey map. The wetlands were mapped to National Wetland Inventory (NWI) standards developed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and do not represent jurisdictional boundaries.
Water Rights Records Information
A database of limited pertinent information for each water right filed with the Utah Division of Water Rights. Searchable by water right number, source, place of use and name. There is also a map search.

InciWeb-Utah Incidents
Hosted by InciWeb, an inter-agency management system, this site has a searchable database of current fires including prescribed burns. Search includes age, type and status limiters.

Vermont

ACT 250 Database Search (VT)
Act 250 is Vermont's land use and development control law. This database contains information associated with permit applications received after January 1, 200. Search by project number, name, description, town, county, status, and more.
Searchable Databases (VT Drinking Water and Groundwater Protection Division)
Individual databases for drinking water include a public document library, drinking water watch, water system operator information, public water system sample and sampling schedules, well completion reports, and interference studies. Databases for wastewater include wastewater systems and potable water supply permits search and final indirect discharge permits.
Search Wetlands Permits (VT)
Search by project name, project number, town, and applicant name for permits and applications received after 2011.
Spills List (VT)
Contains recent and historical spill information including the release location, type of product released, nature of incident and more. Click "View" for more information such as the name of the spill manager and contact email.
VT Hazardous Site List
Searchable by town, address and name of site.

Virginia

Virginia Natural Heritage Database Search
Users can generate lists of plants and animal species that occur in specific counties, watersheds, subwatersheds or regions such as the Cumberland Mountains or the Outer Coastal Plain. Searches can be done on individual or groups of resources, by scientific or common name, taxonomic group, federal or state legal status, and global or state rarity rank.
Fish and Wildlife Information Service
View or print Biota of Virginia (BOVA) booklets for native and naturalized species of Virginia. Each booklet contains species-specific information on taxonomy, status, life history, occurrence and distribution, land management practices, food habits, habitat, and environmental associations as well as citations to scientific literature. Searchable by species information and geography.
DGO Data Information System
Multiple databases are available, including monthly gas production by well, monthly oil production, permit issuance statistics, driller reports, and more. In many cases, information is exportable to PDF and Excel.

Washington

Arsenic in Soil Database
Address or parcel search for cleanup records. The mining company Asarco operated copper smelters in Everett and Tacoma, WA, contaminating soils for miles around the former stacks.
Children's Safe Products Act Reports Database
Beginning in August 2012, manufacturers of children's products must report to Dept. of Ecology if their products contain toxic chemicals such as lead, cadmium and phthalates. The Reporting List of Chemicals of High Concern to Children can be searched by chemical, company, or product.
Cleanup Site Search
A searchable inventory of sites currently being investigated, cleaned up, or that have already completed the cleanup process. Sites can be searched by ID number, name, and location (address, city, county or zip code).
Environmental Information Management System (EIM)
Department of Ecology's main database for environmental monitoring data, containing records on physical, chemical, and biological analyses and measurements. Supplementary information about the data (metadata) is also stored, including information about environmental studies, monitoring locations, and data quality.
Everett and Tacoma Smelter Search
Search by address or municipality to locate a siting within the Tacoma Smelter Plume and Everett Cleanup Site. The map shows the general pattern of arsenic contamination from the Asarco Tacoma Smelter.
Facility/Site Database
Information on facilities and sites of environmental interest, such as State Cleanup sites, Federal Superfund sites, hazardous waste generators, solid waste facilities, and underground storage tanks. Search by program or location.
Fertilizer Database
Provided by the Hazardous Wastes and Toxic Reduction Program of the DOE, the database contains company, product, and waste information in addition to standards, definitions, and soil amendments.
Forest Practices Application Review System
The Forest Practices Application Review System (FPARS) collects and makes available to the public applications related to forest practice rules on timber harvesting, thinning, forest chemical application, and other standards. The database is searched by FPAR applications number but can also be accessed by parcel number, legal description, geographic area, watershed name, and several other points.
Lakes Environmental Data
Washington state lake data includes: aquatic plants, toxic algae, herbicide use, fish management, grants and loans, etc. Enter lake or reservoir name to begin search, or click lake on a map.
Map of Washington Air Monitoring Sites
A geographical presentation of air quality at locations in Washington State through WAQA, the Washington Air Quality Advisory system. The pollutants included in WAQA are ground-level ozone, fine particle pollution (PM2.5), carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide.
Puget Sound Ecosystem Monitoring Program
Puget Sound sediment health. Locate report by study, location, or other paramenters.
River and Stream Water Quality Monitoring

State Geological Information Portal

Toxics Cleanup Program Web Reporting
A search to quickly and easily retrieve subsets of data related to clean up of contaminated properties throughout Washington state
Water Cleanup Plans
Information by regions of the state about the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) or Water Quality Improvement Project process that was established by the Clean Water Act (CWA). This database lists bodies of water, watershed area, and existing Water Quality Improvement Reports that address water pollutants.
Water Quality Atlas
Map water quality data. Search by marine or freshwater and by city, county, leg. district, watershed, waterbody, or improvement project.
Water Resources Explorer
Access to water rights information on land parcels anywhere in the state. The Statewide Water Resources Webmap provides information on over 230,000 active water right and claim records in the Water Resources Program database, many that have been in existence since the late 1800s. Search by document/record number or by the name of the person to whom the water right was issued.

Well Reports which describe the location, ownership, construction details and lithology of a completed well.

Wisconsin

Landscape Registry
Allows citizens to request to be notified in advance whenever pesticides are applied to neighbors' lawns, trees and shrubs by commercial lawn and landscape firms. Commercial applicators search the registry by county or specific addresses, and then notify registry members before the pesticides are applied. Annual deadline for being added to the list is Feb. 1. The full registry is available online, arranged by county.
Minerals of Wisconsin
Dr. William S. Cordua, professor of geology at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, assembled this database of over 300 minerals found in Wisconsin. It allows you to search alphabetically by mineral name and local. There is also a list of Wisconsin geology related attractions and further resources for people interested in mineral identification.
Wisconsin Remediation and Redevelopment Database (WRRD)
The Wisconsin Remediation and Redevelopment Database (WRRD) (formerly called the Contaminated Lands Environmental Action Network, or CLEAN) is an inter-linked system providing information on different contaminated land activities in Wisconsin, to assist with the investigation, cleanup and eventual re-use of those lands.

This site is a collaborative effort between the herbaria of the UW-Madison (WIS) and the UW-Steven's Point (UWSP), along with most of the other herbaria located in the state of Wisconsin. Wyoming Water Bibliography
The Wyoming Water Bibliography (WWB) was initiated to provide a comprehensive, computerized, bibliographic storage and retrieval system dealing with the development, management, and use of Wyoming's water resources. At present, the WWB contains 13,000 citations. As new reports are published, they are incorporated into the WWB by the Wyoming Water Resources Center. The WWB is a multidisciplinary system dealing with all aspects of water. Subject areas included are ground and surface water hydrology, water quality, water development, water management, water law, fish and wildlife, energy development, economics, recreation and various other disciplines related to water. Information for the bibliography was obtained from a variety of sources including state and federal agencies, universities, community colleges, city and county offices, public libraries, consulting firms, commercial database searches, and many personal contacts with other individuals involved with Wyoming's water. These sources were most valuable in furnishing information to make the WWB as complete as possible.
