The survey had three parts:
User Information. In this section, we collected information to help us broadly identify patterns in the survey data. This information was also asked so we could design resources for different types of user groups.
Civic Literacy and Civic Engagement. In this section, we asked questions to help us identify patterns related to attitudes and beliefs around civic literacy and engagement. We intentionally included definitions so that individuals had a baseline for what we were using as our definitions. Based on the survey data, the goal was to help identify a community-defined description our team could use for the project.
Needs Assessments for increasing civic engagement and civic literacy efforts. In this section, we asked questions that would identify barriers and opportunities around civic engagement and civic literacy efforts. This section intentionally included the most open responses because we wanted to identify patterns in the data.
