GODORT Technology Committee

Introduction

Welcome!

This guide is the working document of the GODORT Technology Committee.

Each committee member has assigned responsibilities to ensure that the meetings and work of GODORT are properly recorded on its website. The Technology Committee chair is responsible for access to the GODORT Libguides. The Committee will also promote shared standards for configuring content including standards for diversity, equity, inclusion, and access. The GODORT membership will approve the proposed standards and incorporate them in libguides created by all GODORT committees. Lastly, we will document an acceptable method to acknowledge content creators/contributors to the GODORT website and Libguides.

Getting Started

To prepare for your work on this committee, read the Technology Committee Chapter in the GODORT Policies and Procedures Manual (PPM).

The current ALA website is built using Drupal. To request  training, email: godorttechnology@gmail.com and arrangements will be made to schedule a session with the ALA Drupal Trainer.

After completing the training exercises, access will be granted to edit the ALA GODORT webpage.

CONTINUITY OF ACCESS

Google/Gmail Account

The outgoing committee chair will transfer the recovery phone number for this account to the new committee chair at the beginning of the new chair's term (generally after ALA Annual).

LIBGUIDES

The GODORT chair manages access to LibGuides and will grant access to committee members.

All committee chairs will be designated as LibGuides Admins in order to be able to add images to the site.
