Acknowledging the work of contributors to the GODORT LibGuides can be helpful to members who need evidence of their service contributions for their evaluations and tenure/promotion applications.
Some methods of providing attribution information include:
- Adding profile boxes to guides (Example.)
- If a contributor is no longer a member of ALA/GODORT, the committee should reassign the guide or check with the person to see if they are interested in continuing to manage it. If they no longer manage the guide, then a contributions box could be added to acknowledge that person. (See next suggestion.)
- Adding a box to guides identifying members as contributors and including their contact information. Please see the "Previous Site Information" box on the Government Information for Children's guide for an example.
