GODORT Best Practices for LibGuides

Acknowledging Content Creators

Acknowledging the work of contributors to the GODORT LibGuides can be helpful to members who need evidence of their service contributions for their evaluations and tenure/promotion applications.

Some methods of providing attribution information include:

  • Adding profile boxes to guides (Example.)
    • If a contributor is no longer a member of ALA/GODORT, the committee should reassign the guide or check with the person to see if they are interested in continuing to manage it. If they no longer manage the guide, then a contributions box could be added to acknowledge that person. (See next suggestion.)
  • Adding a box to guides identifying members as contributors and including their contact information. Please see the "Previous Site Information" box on the Government Information for Children's guide for an example.
