This guide will have resources for GIC members and volunteers.
It will not be visible to the public (so you must be logged into LibGuides to see it).
All current members and volunteers should be able to edit this. GODORT members with Admin level accounts in LibGuides will also be able to edit this guide (and all). Current (Jan. 2022) GIC Admins for LibGuides are: Jennifer Castle, Jenny Groome and Marna Morland (Chair).
The list of members and guides will be on the Help/Contact page. If we can easily link to other GIC documents, we will do that instead.
Other GODORT Groups in LibGuides have some guidance and best practices pages/documents. Before we make our own, let's see if GODORT Steering and/or Tech committee comes up with something across the board.
Please update by adding your name, and then keeping previous author/editor and indicating previous:
These guides are created, edited, and maintained by various people over the years.
In 2015 the following team of ALA Emerging Leaders researched and contributed to content for the initial LibGuides site:
Educational Resources from Government Agencies: A GIC Guide - redirect to GIC home page. Current: Chair, Groome, Jenny |
Presidents of the United States - Current: Williams, Connie Author: Williams, Connie |
Group Homepage:https://godort.libguides.com?group_id=16537
To add a new topic page to the main GIC guide, you first need to create a new guide.
This is due to the internal structure of LibGuides.
Here is a video I made very quickly (apologies but I didn't edit it). I can't upload to LibGuides because it it too large. - Jenny
After creating and publishing the guide, let admins (currently Jennifer Castle and Jenny Groome) know. They will then add the new topic guide to the main GIC guide.
Sections of GODORT have created various Best Practices guidelines.
You might need to be logged into your GODORT LibGuide account. Some might be visible only to group members.
