Do you love puns, bad poetry and government? Many federal and state agencies use Valentines as an opportunity to spread the word about their work, help people learn about science and have a little fun. From bees to rocks these sites will help you spread the love.

One agency rises to the top in the quantity of Valentines. When you have a gallery of amazing images and artists to created fun cards for young and old- you have a bit of an advantage. NASA may have the most variety available as they seem to create more each year for their Kid’s site and social media.

The NASA Tumblr page has a selection of other Celestial Valentine’s day cards.

Johnson Space Center is showing the love and exploring the reaches of poetry.

Do you know what geologists love? Puns! They are pretty fond of rocks as well. USGS These weathered, heart-shaped rocks are from the Edwards Formation in Austin, TX. 2022 Twitter thread of punny Valentines.  There are some unexpected inclusions like this Sea Lamprey.

And did you know the USGS also studies bees? They have a fantastic gallery.

NOAA has aquatic themed Valentines pared with witty poems like

The National Reconnaissance Office is responsible for maintaining global vigilance in times of peace and war. When not engaged in defense activities they fill their kid’s page has Valentines and other activities.

You're Sat-sational with image of a statellite

 

The National Park Service wants you to learn  about historic trails, the history of Valentines and paint (or color) your wagon with an activity page. Their historic images come from the Library of Congress which as a great collection of historic cards.

 

The CDC just wants you to stay alive. There is even a Sweet Emergency Preparedness Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas.
